PMVault Sample Session
|
|
|
To start the application choose the PMVault icon from the Start menu.
|
|
| Next, Select Menu. The first time you run the application, you will be prompted
for a password to setup your account. If your phone does not report its phone
number correctly, you will also be prompted for your phone #. Please enter your
correct phone #, otherwise, the archived data you send up may not attach to
your account. Remember your password so that you can log into
http://1800message.com and view your archived information
|
|
|
After you setup your account, you may archive your SMS/Text messages, Call
History, Pictures, Contacts, Voice Notes or TagIt! songs by selecting the
corresponding menu item. (More information will be coming soon about TagIt!).
|
|
|
Your phone will make a data network connection and upload the latest messages
(or other item selected) to the 1800message.com site. The first time you
archive a given type of item, it will upload all of those items. Each
subsequent time you choose to archive your items, only the newest items will be
uploaded. You may control this by choosing 'Upload new items only' in the
Settings dialog (below).
|
|
To have the application check to see if there is a new version available,
chooseMenu->Check for updates.
To change your Settings, chooseMenu->Settings.
If you would like to archive copies of your Sent SMS/Text messages, make sure
the first checkbox (Save copies of sent items) is checked. This will set
an internal registry entry so that your Text Message applications saves sent
items in the Sent Items folder. This allows PMVault to retrieve those messages
and send them to the 1800message.com site.
Upload new items only is used to minimize the amount of data sent each
time you choose to archive your items. If this is not checked, every time you
archive an item class, *all* of those items will be uploaded. You may want to
uncheck this if you are moving your SIM to a new phone.

Archive every [x] hours: If you choose any of the auto-archive boxes,
PMVault will check for items to archive at this time interval. NOTE: You
must have PMVault running for the auto-archive to happen. You may start PMVault
when you first turn on your phone and it will stay running in the background
and archive items at the chosen schedule. You may also add a shortcut to
PMVault to your Windows -> StartUp folder to have the application
start every time you turn on your phone.
