Sorry for the minimal documentation on the SetJogBar application.  We thought it was more important to put the application up rather than spend the time to generate a pretty web page.

We love the T-Mobile Dash, but really don't like the xT9 input method.  It gets in the way alot (appliations can't programmatically disable it on their input boxes) and we didn't see an easy way to disable it, so we wrote a utility.  (We are launching a new search application in a few weeks that it really bothered...).

Also, we liked the JogBar on the Excalibur instead of the volume control slider on the right side, so we added the ability to change the volume slider to be a JogBar.   The nice thing about using it as a JogBar is that you can launch a program by double tapping the top of the slider and you can launch a different program by double tapping on the bottom of the slider - handy stuff.

If that weren't enough, when you use the slider as a JogBar, you also get to use it as a scroll control.  So, you rub it up and down and it acts like a thumb wheel on a Blackberry.  Again, handy.

Here are screen shots of the interface.

Listed in MRU and Start menu

Default settings when you get your Dash
To use the volume slider as a JogBar, click the first checkbox.
To disable the xT9 input (we sure would) uncheck the Enable xT9 input checkbox

Menu
To reset the settings to the Dash's default, choose 1.
To attach an application to the TopKey or BottomKey App buttons (when you double tap the top of the slider), select 2 or 3. You'll get prompted for the program name like below.  The program lists all the programs on your device it can find - a pretty tricky feature and saves you from typing the program path and name.

Above, we are enabling the Camera app to be launched.  Choose OK to have the program name fill in below.

You'll see the application name show up now under Bottom Key App.  We also manually deleted the program arguments to the Bottom Key by erasing the 'Bottom Key Param' field.  You'll also notice we disabled that darned xT9 as well...

Hit Save and you're done.
